Little Lambs Preschool
Greetings in Jesus!
The world of three and four year olds is a time of wonder and questions, a time of curiosity and a time for playful glee and much laughter. This page is designed to introduce you to Little Lambs Preschool of Our Savior.
The Mission of Little Lambs Preschool
Guiding Little Lambs Into Jesus' Arms.
"He tends His flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in His arms
and carries them close to His heart;
He gently leads those that have young"
-Isaiah 40:11
Christian Philosophy
"Train up a child in the way he is to go and when he is old, he will not depart from it"
-Proverbs 22:6
It is a known fact that the early training of a child is by far the most significant training he receives. Our goal is to help children establish a pattern of life which is Christ-centered so that they experience the abundance of life, which Jesus promises, and to provide the highest quality of education, commensurate with the age level for the children.
School Program
The curriculum used at Little Lambs entitled "Jesus Loves Me" is published by Concordia Publishing House. These Christ centered lessons allow for flexibility and variation as the children learn about Jesus' love through songs, puppets, Bible stories, and finger plays. The theme of "Jesus Loves Me" will be carried out through the course of the year and will permeate the entire learning experience from science lessons, to story time, to playtime and learning to say, "I'm sorry and I forgive you."
A Typical Day:
- age-appropriate art activity
- structured circle time
- music, movement and finger plays
- Jesus time, prayers and songs
- small group lessons
- outside playtime
- arts and crafts time
Field Trips and Special Days
A monthly classroom calendar informs the parents of upcoming events and field trips. Special events include class photos, visit to Pumpkin Patch, Family Christmas Celebration, Jesus Loves Me Party, Teddy Bear Picnic, June Family Fun Day and others as they apply to the class lessons!
Assessment
Formal, age-appropriate progress reports are completed in the fall and spring for each child. Parents receive a checklist of observed skills and behaviors at subsequent parent-teacher conferences.
